The international English school of Abidjan is an independent private school. Located in the cool zone of II Plateaux vallon, IESA delivers an international, co-curricular education through an experienced international staff.
The school motto expresses our commitment to education as we are “makers of scholars”. The education system, besides providing an all-round education intellectually, socially and emotionally, also guides young learners in critical thinking, social openness and in purposeful research. Students have several opportunities in the course of the academic year to develop their own talents, be aware of national and global issues, while contributing to the healthy development of their own school community. Home assignments are given to encourage and develop independent study skills. A homework timetable is issued to all students who are required to complete the work as assigned by subject teachers on a regular basis.
On entry each academic year, each ward is placed in a form group of not more than 25 under a tutor who will be responsible for monitoring all aspects of progress and welfare. The form tutor also serves as the first contact person for any matter concerning the child. Our school seeks to actively engage with parents to ensure that at all times they are fully informed of any concerns that they may have. Regular informational sessions are held along with end of term reports to ensure that each pupil’s progress is closely monitored.
